Louisville Hiking Project

Louisville is home to a wonderful park system connecting several anchor parks via a network of boulevards. Developed in 1891, it consisted of Cherokee Park in the East, Iroquois in the South, and Chickasaw in the West. The park system is one of only five in the country, networking parks and parkways linking different parts of the city together. It is also one of two cities that was developed by all three Olmsteds, with Fredrick Law Olmsted as the lead.
