About Natural Wanderer and Me:

Daniel - Sunset over the dunes in Namib Desert

Thanks for stopping by! Here is a little about me and this website.  I am an outdoor soul at heart.  I love being outside and exploring the natural world around me and then I like to blog about it.

This site is centered around my love for nature and how I most like to interact with it: Hiking, Mountain Biking, Kayaking, and Photography.  I’m a medical professional by day and I try to make the most of my time off which usually results in day and weekend camping/biking trips. I’m sure this sounds like most of you. Hopefully you will find resources to help you prepare for your next outing,

Most of all, I want this website to serve as an inspiration to get you out your front door. Adventure can be found everywhere and can be whatever you make it out to be.

Now is the best time to explore!

About Me:

I was born and raised in Louisville, Ky. As a kid I would spend my summer days up at the local lake fishing, playing hide-n-seek in the woods with my brothers and chasing after all the animals – much to my poor mother’s fears as I caught, brought home and then subsequently lost more than a few snakes, lizards and turtles in our house. Needless to say, I was born with a love of the outdoor world.

My parents fostered my love of nature and of being active. I have had the great fortune of being able to travel all over the world but many of my great experiences were here in our city, state, and national parks.

Most of my free time is now spent biking, hiking, camping, paddling or skiing.
